Join the FTSG

The Formal Theory Study Group is happy to receive new members to help with the organisation and execution of its events. The FTSG provides a platform for scholars working on any aspect of musical form to interact and exchange ideas. To this end, the committee has previously organised study days, workshops, and conferences, bringing together researchers at different career stages to discuss issues in the study of musical form. Being a committee member is an exciting opportunity to cultivate community and discourse surrounding formal theory and analysis. Members are appointed without portfolio but may be assigned specific responsibilities as required. Terms last for a minimum of two years, with the option for renewal.

• A two-page CV.

• A 250-word statement outlining relevant experience, any plans or interests for future events and activities, and any other pertinent information.

 

All applications will be evaluated by the chair in consultation with the existing study group committee.
